Ardres
A pleasant little town, historically famous for the meeting nearby (between Ardres and Guînes) of King Henry VIII of England with François I of France at the Field of the Cloth of Gold.

This family particularly likes the Hôtel Clément, which serves a limited but exquisite menu in an ambiance of faded glory.
Do not on any account miss the Crème Doré, the Clément's own version of Crème Brûlée.

The local lake has a variety of leisure features; a good place to spend a summer afternoon.
