Maubec
There are three Maubecs in france; the most famous is in the Lubéron, Provence; there is another in the foothills of the Alps; and finally the hilltop village of Maubec here in Tarn-et-Garonne. This has been a walled city since Gallo-Roman times, and retains its ramparts and gates. The curious structure attached to the church was originally the base of a tower 34 metres high, destroyed during the Wars of religion of the 16th century.
