Moissac

At the time of the Revolution, some petty-minded idiot went round the cloister of the Abbey at Moissac and knocked the heads off all the carved figures, just in case they were Kings. Apart from his bit of work, though, Moissac is pretty well intact and unspoilt, a little town mostly of fiercely red brick, centred round a vast stone abbey, a very pleasant place indeed.
