Of all the hundreds of châteaux in the Loire valley, that of Montsoreau is the closest to the river./ The village itself seems to have won every award the French can offer. As well as one of the 'Plus beaux Villages' it is a 'Village Fleurie', a 'Petite Cité de Caractère' and a 'Village de Charme de l'Anjou'. And, I have to admit, it deserves them all.
